Sexual harassment prevention at the workplace is not just a policy—it’s a legal and moral responsibility. Yet, many people, even in top institutions and companies, are unaware of how the POSH Act and Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) function in reality.
The ICC isn’t just a formality. It must:
Be present in every organization with over 10 employees
Handle complaints with neutrality and confidentiality
Follow strict legal procedures, documentation, and timelines
If any part of the process is mishandled—even unintentionally—the case can lose its legal validity, denying justice to the survivor.
It's not enough to mean well. We need to act right.
As someone exploring law, rights, and workplace ethics, I realised that knowing POSH is not optional. It’s essential for every employee, HR leader, and future changemaker.
