The Union Cabinet has just approved the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana, a mega-scheme aimed at transforming the weakest agricultural districts across India.
This new initiative brings together 36 existing schemes under one powerful framework, with an allocation of ₹24,000 crore over the next 6 years. What makes it unique is its targeted approach—districts will be selected based on low agricultural productivity, low cropping intensity, and low credit disbursement.
